Frequently asked questions
Why does the app ask for my location?
To fetch the forecast for where you are standing. It asks iOS for approximate location only — never a precise position — and uses it for nothing else. The coordinates go to the weather service and no further.
I declined location access. Does the app still work?
It opens, and it tells you what it needs, in its own voice rather than with an error dialog. It cannot produce a verdict without knowing roughly where you are, because the answer is about your weather and not about weather in general. You can change your mind in iOS Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Location Services.
Does it work without a network?
Yes, within reason. The last forecast received is kept on the phone and re-scored against the current time, so a fetch from this morning still answers correctly this afternoon. When it becomes too old to say anything honest, the app says that instead of inventing a verdict.
The verdict says coat, but it is sunny and mild outside
That is the app working, not failing. The verdict is taken on the coldest point of the next six hours, because you are not coming back for the coat. When the window turns, the line under the garment tells you so — it will mention the evening rather than leaving you to guess.
Why does it disagree with the temperature in my weather app?
It is not showing you the temperature. It is showing what the air does to a person: wind chill below ten degrees, humidity above it, blended in between. A still, sunny day reads warmer than a windy one at the same reading, and that difference is the entire reason the app exists.
It also reads the *shade* formulation, which has no term for sunshine on your back. On a still, bright spring afternoon it will be a little more cautious than you feel.
The widget shows something different from the app
The widget re-scores the cached forecast on its own schedule, which iOS decides, not the app. It makes no network call of its own — that is deliberate, and it is why it costs nothing in battery or data. Opening the app refreshes both.
I hear nothing when the verdict is read aloud
Check the speaker icon on screen: the app remembers whether you muted it. Then check the physical silent switch and the volume while the voice is speaking — iOS routes it as spoken audio, so the volume it obeys is the one you set during playback. The voices themselves come from iOS; if a language sounds robotic, a better voice can be downloaded in Settings, Accessibility, Spoken Content.
Which languages does it come in?
Eleven: French, English, Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Each was written in its own language rather than translated from one original, which is why the jokes differ between them. The app follows your iPhone's language order; there is no setting for it.
Can I choose a different city?
Not at present. The app answers for where you are, and that is the whole of it.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app. Everything it stores — the last forecast, the last position, the lines already shown — lives inside the app and its private group container, and goes with it. There is no account and nothing on a server to erase.
Price, refunds, changing phones
One payment, no subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by me: reportaproblem.apple.com. The purchase is tied to your Apple Account, so a new phone restores it at no charge.
Reporting a problem
Write to the address below. What makes a report useful:
- What the app said, and what you expected instead.
- The figures on the line under the garment — perceived temperature, wind, humidity — since that row is exactly what the verdict was computed from.
- Roughly where you were, and at what time.
- Your iOS version and iPhone model.
- For a wording problem, the language and the sentence, copied out. In eleven languages, that is the only way I can find it again.

Questions fréquentes
Pourquoi l'app demande-t-elle ma position ?
Pour récupérer la prévision de l'endroit où tu te trouves. Elle demande à iOS une position approximative uniquement — jamais une position précise — et ne s'en sert pour rien d'autre. Les coordonnées vont au service météo et pas plus loin.
J'ai refusé la localisation. L'app fonctionne-t-elle quand même ?
Elle s'ouvre, et elle te dit ce qui lui manque, dans sa propre voix plutôt qu'avec une boîte d'erreur. Elle ne peut pas rendre de verdict sans savoir à peu près où tu es, parce que la réponse porte sur ta météo et non sur la météo en général. Tu peux changer d'avis dans Réglages, Confidentialité et sécurité, Service de localisation.
Est-ce que ça marche sans réseau ?
Oui, dans une certaine mesure. La dernière prévision reçue reste sur le téléphone et est recalculée contre l'heure courante, si bien qu'une récupération de ce matin répond encore correctement cet après-midi. Quand elle devient trop vieille pour dire quelque chose d'honnête, l'app le dit au lieu d'inventer un verdict.
Le verdict dit manteau alors qu'il fait doux et ensoleillé
C'est l'app qui fonctionne, pas qui se trompe. Le verdict est pris sur le point le plus froid des six prochaines heures, parce que tu ne reviendras pas chercher le manteau. Quand la fenêtre tourne, la ligne sous le vêtement te le dit — elle parlera de la soirée plutôt que de te laisser deviner.
Pourquoi est-ce différent de la température de mon app météo ?
Elle ne te montre pas la température. Elle te montre ce que l'air fait à un être humain : refroidissement éolien en dessous de dix degrés, humidité au-dessus, mélange des deux entre les deux. Une journée calme et ensoleillée se lit plus chaude qu'une journée ventée au même relevé, et cet écart est toute la raison d'être de l'app.
Elle utilise en outre la formulation *à l'ombre*, qui n'a aucun terme pour le soleil sur tes épaules. Par un après-midi de printemps calme et lumineux, elle sera un peu plus prudente que ce que tu ressens.
Le widget affiche autre chose que l'app
Le widget recalcule la prévision en cache selon son propre rythme, décidé par iOS et non par l'app. Il ne fait aucun appel réseau à lui — c'est délibéré, et c'est pour ça qu'il ne coûte ni batterie ni données. Ouvrir l'app rafraîchit les deux.
Je n'entends rien quand le verdict est lu
Vérifie l'icône de haut-parleur à l'écran : l'app retient si tu l'as coupée. Vérifie ensuite le bouton silence physique et le volume pendant que la voix parle — iOS le route comme de la parole, donc le volume qu'il suit est celui que tu règles à ce moment-là. Les voix viennent d'iOS ; si une langue sonne robotique, une meilleure voix se télécharge dans Réglages, Accessibilité, Contenu énoncé.
Dans quelles langues existe-t-elle ?
Onze : français, anglais, néerlandais, allemand, espagnol, italien, portugais, roumain, chinois, japonais et coréen. Chacune a été écrite dans sa propre langue plutôt que traduite depuis un original, et c'est pourquoi les blagues diffèrent d'une langue à l'autre. L'app suit l'ordre des langues de ton iPhone ; il n'y a pas de réglage pour ça.
Puis-je choisir une autre ville ?
Pas pour l'instant. L'app répond pour l'endroit où tu es, et c'est tout.
Comment supprimer mes données ?
Supprime l'app. Tout ce qu'elle stocke — dernière prévision, dernière position, phrases déjà affichées — vit dans l'app et son conteneur de groupe privé, et part avec elle. Il n'y a pas de compte et rien à effacer sur un serveur.
Prix, remboursement, changement de téléphone
Un paiement, pas d'abonnement. Les remboursements sont gérés par Apple, pas par moi : reportaproblem.apple.com. L'achat est lié à ton compte Apple, un nouveau téléphone le restaure sans frais.
